She has dementia and so is often confused, but staff are very helpful and kind. We continued to leave mom on a waiting list for a government supported facility, but when her name came up to move, it was an easy decision to have her remain at Hearthstone. But decided on Hearthstone because it is a smaller, more intimate facility, friendly staff, and reported to have a better staff:resident ratio. I have met both of them personally and enjoy that they are so approachable and so hands on. The new owners (Gagan and Sarah) have also made several updates to the home and are making further changes to improve the ambience inside and out. It is also nice they order out once in awhile as a treat. My Mom loved to cook and could be a little picky, but she has said the food and variety has been great.

The nursing staff, care aids and recreational therapist are fantastic, they update me on everything they observe and it is great to see on Facebook what they have done during the day. Fast forward four months, I and my parents could not be happier with Hearthstone, it is like the staff is an extension of our family, they are easy to talk to and address any concerns immediately.

It was great they were allowed to bring their favourite chairs, tv and comforters to remind them of the home they left. Sarah(owner) and Amanda met us with all the staff at the front door and everyone introduced themselves and assured my parents that everything would be alright. Move in day was still tough as it is out of every parents comfort zone moving into a new place such as a care home and not knowing what to expect. Once I met Amanda (Administrator) and went through the detailed indoctrination process I was confident we had made the right choice.

Some insurance companies and pension funds also contribute to the cost of Long Term care. Many Veterans are funded by Department of Veteran Affairs to stay at Hearthstone Manor. We will gladly help you with anything you may need to make you feel at home. Staying in a private-pay room will not affect your position on the government subsided long-term / residential care waiting list. If you are waiting for government subsidized care, we will still welcome you. You do not need to contact a local health authority or third party for admission into Hearthstone Manor. There are no government specified eligibility criteria to reside with us. Hearthstone Manor nursing fee is fully tax exempt. Hearthstone is a home and not an institution. We take pride in saying that we take exceptional care of our residents. You will never find a fused bulb at our home! The facility never faces budget cuts or staff shortages ensuring high staff to resident ratio. We maintain high standards of hygiene, care, and maintenance. We will soon be expanding the facility to a total of 12,000 square feet, 30 beds on 0.7 acres with a commercial kitchen, new dining and entertainment facilities, outdoor BBQ kitchen, secured outdoor walking path, enhanced ventilation and air purification systems, and more!

We have a beautifully maintained front lawn, a private garden and patio in the rear of the facility.
